Minecraft Shuts Down My Computer! -Solved-

I'm having some trouble with Minecraft. When I play Minecraft, after a while, my computer shuts off. With no warning at all, the screen goes black and the power button stops glowing. I have power connected to the computer and it shuts off. This can happen 5 minutes after I start mc or after an hour. No other games do it and when I'm not playing, it doesn't either. I'm currently running Vista. I'm not sure if its a heat issue. When playing MC, the core is abput 51 degrees celcius and the cpu is 61 - 65 degrees celcius. I've done everything I can, reinstalling, loading it with the tekkit launcher, turning down the video settings, running it as administrator, installing mods and cooling it down. I am also running it on a slower exe, so it doesn't use as much gb as the normal exe. It does this on the normal exe, the less exe and the tekkit lancher. It does this with mods installed and when they're not istalled. On singleplayer, I seem to be able to play for longer, but it always seems to shut down. I really need some help, I'm not sure if this is computer related or MC related, but I would like some help.

You know man, im really not sure. It could even be that you computer jsut doesnt liek minecraft haha. I suggest getting it looked at by a computer specialist. :/

Ik, it could be. But its actually my step dads computer, so I can't get it looked at. Also, my mum and my step dad are kinda broke at the moment, so I really can't.

Sorry to say, but this issue looks to be a computer problem. Not sure if you're able to fix it at all. Getting a new one might be the only fix. But perhaps you could try using something to reduce the heat? Laptops can overheat a lot faster than desktops, and I know the way Minecraft is made is not the most CPU friendly. It could be a bug in your system also. Have you checked for viruses perhaps?

I'm not sure if I could reduce the heat. I'm currently in Ausrtralia on holiday and theres almsot no chance of reducing the heat unless I have a fan constantly going next to the laptop. My step dad has checked for a virus and its not. I've searched and it seems that nothing seems to fix it. My desktop in New Zealand doesn't have this problem, and it has a really bad fan (I probably need to clean it) but its in a colder enviroment. I'm on holiday to where my mum moved and her stuff is gonna take a few weeks. I can still kinda play, and using the tekkit lancher has increased the time that I can play, but sometimes, it turns off after a few minutes. Its seems to work fine in singleplayer though, so I'm really confused.

Well I don't see how this could be a Minecraft problem if it happens even in vanilla. Have you maybe checked online for people with similar problems? I guess it COULD be your hardware. Maybe Minecraft runs poorly with, say, your graphics card. Maybe list your specs?

Your CPU may be throttling and will have to shut down to prevent overheating. Try getting a cooling pad.

You Should Probaly Lower The Settings While Your At It, I Had A Similar Error When I Set The Render Distance To Far, Minecraft Would Close Itself And I'd Lose My Data, When I Set It To Medium, It No Longer Crashed

I Hope Scmowns Reviews It!

I think I've figured it out. I had the laptop on the bed last night, and it got really hot. I opened MC and it closed in about 2 seconds. Normaly, it closes after half an hour, but it closed very quickly. And suggestions in lowering my core and CPU heat?

Get a cooling pad, as KingRandomGuy suggested. Plug it in your USB port and it runs a fan in a pad under your laptop. Also, DON'T have your laptop on cloth, as it gets REALLY hot that way. If you don't have a cooling pad, try at least having it in the air, like an air space below it. If you must have it on a table, use a wooden table as they are least absorptive of heat.

Currently, the laptop is on a wooden table. We're thinking of getting a cooling pad, how much do you think it'll be? Its still shutting down on a wooden table, so I'm going to need a cooling pad.

I'm not sure how much it would be, apart from currency differences, I have not bought one myself since I have a desktop.
You could also try stacking something in each corner of the laptop so it's like hovering. It might give it some cooler air under it. Cooling pads shouldn't be too expensive.
